3. Online training, application, and paid orientation
4. Onboarding meeting conducted in our office
5. Background check
6. Start working! We will provide you with access to our scheduling system so you can start viewing and accepting assignments in schools of your choice

No prior experience is required. Although minimum requirements apply, all you need is a desire to help students learn and grow every day. Then you’re well on your way to becoming a great substitute teacher.

We pride ourselves on flexible work opportunity. The minimum working requirement is one Monday and one Friday per month. However, given the critical need for substitute teachers and other staff, we encourage our employees to work at least two days a week, when possible.

Prior to your first assignment, substitute educators receive thorough online classroom management training to help you become a capable classroom leader. We also provide free online professional development courses to help you understand how students learn in order to create a positive learning environment. All substitute employees – regardless of position -- receive paid orientation that covers Kelly Education employment and district-specific policies and procedures.

Frontline is an industry leading, user-friendly automated absence management and tracking system. The Frontline platform lets you manage your schedule and search for/accept substitute assignments via the Internet or Interactive Voice Response (IVR) telephone technology. In addition, you will use Frontline to record your time worked, for payroll purposes. Frontline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Once hired, substitute employees will be sent an email invite to create a username and password for your Frontline account.
