Working With Kelly Educational Staffing
About Kelly Educational Staffing
Since 1997, Kelly Services has been providing qualified, trained, and background-screened substitute teachers to K-12 schools in the United States, the District of Columbia, and the United Kingdom through its Kelly Educational Staffing service line. We have filled nearly 4 million classrooms in 45 states with nearly 25,000 substitutes in more than 3,000 schools.
One full year of a student’s K-12 education is taught by substitute teachers and nearly 90 percent of school districts are experiencing significant difficulty in recruiting and retaining a sufficient substitute teacher pool to meet their needs. Kelly Educational Staffing was developed in direct response to these challenges and the increasing need for quality substitute teachers.
As the national leader in educational staffing, our substitute teacher staffing solution provides recruiting, background screening, training, scheduling, and retention of individuals who meet and/or exceed state and local guidelines and certification requirements for substitute teaching.
Why Schools Partner with Kelly Educational Staffing

By utilizing our substitute teacher staffing solution, schools can focus on their core competency––educating children, have confidence that momentum in the learning process is maintained when the full-time teacher needs to be away, and have more classrooms taught by qualified substitute teachers, as we fill more than 97% of the requested classrooms each year nationally.
During the 2007/2008 school year, Kelly Educational Staffing employed more than 25,000 substitute teachers who met and/or exceeded state and local teaching requirements.
